Pre-Science Programme This is a remedial programme for candidates who have insufficient grades in one or more of the science subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations. The programme is operated for the Faculties of Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Medicine, Health Sciences & Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Natural Sciences.

Pre-Degree Diploma Programme This programme usually lasts two years and leads to the award of diploma certificates. The programme enhances the support for middle level workforce in the country. In collaboration with the Chinese Government, a diploma programme in Chinese Language has been established at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. This programme is designed for people who wish to do business in China and those who want to pursue their University education in China. It is also useful for civil servants on foreign missions and even for those on short term visits to China. It is also designed as a stepping ground to higher level courses in Chinese Language.
